Today's Show: Homemade Eco Friendly Playdough

You'll Need:

1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of salt
1 tablespoon of cream of tartar
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (have a little extra on hand for moistness)
Ground cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, pumpkin/apple pie spices
Food coloring

You'll Do:

Dump the dry ingredients together in a pot over medium high heat. Pour the wet ingredients in, stir for about 5 minutes until playdoughy, and cool. Now you and the kids can add a few drops of food coloring and/or spices to scent and dye your eco friendly playdough!

Tip: Trade the baking spices in this recipe for a few drops of peppermint oil during the holidays or use lavender, citronella, and even vanilla oils as playdough scents year 'round!

I'm a big fan of "no screen time" kid activities. Kids keep these memories forever. I know because my grown-up "babies" talk about just such things when we get together. I wish I had thought to add fragrance. Great idea!
